It seems like we can’t go a week without writing about Cara Delevingne, but we don’t mind considering how obsessed we are with her. Of course, it seems like we’re not the only ones who can’t get our fill of the fun-loving model. John Hardy has picked up the British babe to be the new face of the brand for the jewelry designer’s new Fall 2014 campaign. “There is no denying Cara Delevingne’s appeal; her striking beauty, alluring confidence and effortless cool make her one of a kind. Cara is forging her own path with a free spirit, fierce independence and unique perspective on life, which is, at its core and inception, the essence of John Hardy,” the brand explained.

The allegedly insane 15th century Spanish queen, Joanna of Castilla, may not be a story that gets your creative juices flowing, but for jewelry designer Wendy Brandes, she’s the perfect muse. The media and marketing pro turned jewelry guru has shown that inspiration can come from the most unlikely places. Her collections, based largely off powerful historical women, have won her fashion awards (including the coveted FGI Rising Star award in 2012) and the recognition of celebrities and stylists alike.

In the latest instalment of Founder Stories, a series highlighting the personal and professional journeys of some of fashion’s most dynamic entrepreneurs, BoF speaks with Bec Astley Clarke, founder of luxury jeweller Astley Clarke.

LONDON, United Kingdom — BoF sat down with Bec Astley Clarke only days after she was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) by Queen Elizabeth II for doing what was once considered impossible — building a fully fledged luxury brand on the Internet — and doing it with a distinctly British combination of elegance and irreverence.

As a landmark exhibition tracing Swarovski’s long history in Haute Coutre opens in Paris, Nadja Swarovski speaks to Imran Amed about the design-led vision that she has been advocating for her family business, founded in 1895 by her great-great-grandfather.

Nadja Swarovski is a woman on the go. Having recently been elevated to member of the executive board of Swarovski, she is constantly shuttling between her home in London, Swarovski’s headquarters in Wattens, Austria, and countless other places around the world. Indeed, the crystal manufacturing company that Daniel Swarovski set up in 1895 has since grown into a business with over €2.8 billion in revenues, operating in several disparate market segments, with B2B and B2C businesses, and over 2,000 retail stores. This is a complex, global concern.

Interview with Louis Vuitton Jewelry Designer Lorenz Bäumer

“I would love to be seen as an artist who creates sculptures to be worn,” states luxury diamond jewelry designer Lorenz Bäumer, the creator behind Louis Vuitton fine jewelry. In fact, he has been the creator of many fine jewelry pieces for other eminent names such as Chanel, Guerlain and Baccarat. These notable houses would only enlist a most proficient jeweler to uphold their reputation, bien sûr! But Lorenz Bäumer has his own great name and salon also, where he described to me in a recent interview the commonality he shares with Louis Vuitton, his most poetically expressed inspirations, and the one “erotic object” he finds amusing.
